4 Reasons to Visit Mayfest This Year

Mayfest Fort Worth 2017

Mayfest, Fort Worth’s premier outdoor family festival, is finally here! Come enjoy live music, festival food, carnival rides, bounce houses, performing arts groups, paddleboats, rock-climbing, zip-lining, people watching, art and gift market, student art contest, and so much more! With 3 stages dedicated to music performances from over 40 local bands as well as 4 performing arts stages featuring dance and martial arts of all kinds, this year’s Mayfest is sure to be one of the greatest years yet!

If you’re still having doubts, here are 4 more reasons you should definitely check out Mayfest this year:

FREE TICKETS! – Yes, free! Thursday is completely free! Gates open at 3:30pm on Thursday and the festival stays open until 9:30. For the remainder of the weekend, discounted tickets and vouchers for free koozies will be waiting for everyone entering through the South Gate. Fort Worth loves and respects our military service men and women. Just show your ID for active duty, retired, reserve, or student cadet and receive FREE admission for you and up to 5 family members EVERYDAY of Mayfest. How awesome is that!

CONVENIENCE! Traffic is heavy during this busy weekend, so be sure to use the South entrance drop off! Drop your passengers just a few steps from the South Gate before you park at one of the three conveniently located parking lots. The Drop-And-Park option is especially convenient for disabled and mobility-challenged guests, as well as families with small children. You no longer have to worry about hauling strollers, wagons, dance costumes, etc. from the parking lots to the gates. Another great option is to utilize a ride-sharing service. Uber, Lyft, or taxi services can drop you off and pick you up at the South Entrance. If you do decide to bring your own car, keep in mind that parking is $10 and cash only.

FUN FOR ALL AGES! Not only is there yummy fair food, craft beer, and fantastic local bands for the adults to enjoy, there are also so many fun activities for the kids. Check out the Tom Thumb Albertsons Children’s Area located in the middle of the festival grounds. Here you will find over 20 free activities for kids age 3-12 including arts and craft projects and music and dance performances geared towards kids! If that wasn’t enough, Fort Worth’s brand new Dream Park will be open to festival guests during Mayfest. This incredible play space offers 57,000 square feet of fun for kids of all ages and abilities.

SAFETY! Mayfest goes to great lengths to provide the safest festival possible. The Fort Worth Police Department, the Fort Worth Fire Department, Swift Water Rescue and Texas Health Resources all participate in the safety and security to make it the most prepared festival in North Texas. If you’re worried about the crazy Texas weather, rest easy knowing that professional weather personnel track all developing weather patterns and are in continuous communication with the Mayfest organizers. There is a complete evacuation plan in place, just in case!

Mayfest is just one more reason why we think Fort Worth is one of the best places to live and raise a family! For more information or to purchase your tickets, please visit www.mayfest.org.
