About the Community
Fort Worth’s Near Southside is home to some of the oldest, most beautiful homes in the city. Hundred-year old homes, historical markers and all the character that comes along with that are common in neighborhoods like Fairmount, Ryan Place, Berkeley Place and Mistletoe Heights. A stroll down the storied Elizabeth Boulevard alone gives a taste of the abundance of this part of the city.
That unique beauty is also why events like the Fairmount Tour of Homes and the Candlelight Christmas in Ryan Place are Fort Worth favorites. Aside from its history and splendor, the Near Southside enjoys a sense of community that is hard to find elsewhere. Events like neighborhood yard sales and July 4th parades are commonplace. Several parks, a community garden and the Fire Station Community Center are all amenities that contribute to the comradery in the area. And plenty of pride is fostered in Daggett Montessori and Lily B. Clayton, two of Fort Worth ISD’s highest-rated schools.
A short bike ride will take you places like restaurants on Magnolia Avenue, the recently redeveloped Forest Park Pool, the Fort Worth Zoo, the up-and-coming South Main area and the city’s best hospitals and doctor’s offices.
With great schools, parks, restaurants, community, accessibility and beauty, the Near Southside is an area that truly has it all.
