If you’ve been around Fort Worth long enough, you’ve heard this popular slogan for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo! Running for over 125 years, FWSSR rightly boasts to be “the most authentic western lifestyle experience anywhere!” If you’ve never been, now’s the time. For the next 23 days, you can experience all FWSSR has to offer.
For those who want the full experience, you can purchase tickets to the rodeo, auction sales, livestock and/or horse shows. This year’s rodeo features include Best of the West Ranch Rodeo, Cowboys of Color, Bulls Night Out Extreme Bull Riding, and Best of Mexico Celebración. The show-stopper FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament will be held in the new Dickies Arena!
The FWSSR is a family affair! Bring the kids for family-centered activities and educational events including the Carnival Midway, stock show parade, petting zoo and pony rides, to name a few. You can even check out Cowboy Church on Sundays! Ground admission fees also include entrance to three incredible local museums: Cattle Raisers Museum, National Cowgirl Museum, and the Museum of Science and History. (*If you are a member at any of these museums, you may enjoy a complimentary stock show grounds admission pass.)
The FWSSR isn't just for rodeo fans. Music, art, food and wine are a big part of the culture, as well. They have a great lineup this year for the Auditorium Concert Series, as well as individual artists playing at The Corkyard, a wine tent set up for stock show guests! Speaking of wine, check out the website for events like Sip & Shop wine tasting, Bites & Bubbles, and Wine Camp. During your visit, you may notice some incredible art on display. Every year, FWSSR hosts an Art Contest where they feature entries from artists of all ages. Qualifying entries and finalists will be displayed in the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall Concourse, the Science & History Museum (elementary and middle school entries), and National Cowgirl Museum (high school entries).
