LEAGUE Loves Fort Worth: Our Favorite Spring Events

It’s spring in Fort Worth, and for a few magical weeks the weather is neither frigid nor sweltering. In fact, it’s downright pleasant (except perhaps for the occasional hail storm, of course). We are thankful we live in a city that knows how to make the most of this perfect weather with an array of fantastic events! If you’re looking for something fun to do with the people you love, let our agents share with you a few of their favorites…

Main Street Arts Festival

Main Street Arts Festival

April 11-14, Sundance Square

The Main Street Arts Festival is a long-time favorite among Fort Worth residents. It’s the perfect blend of festival staples (think tasty food and great music) and the incredible work of local artists. Right in the heart of downtown Fort Worth you will find rows of booths selling everything from custom-made jewelry to oil paintings. Stages will host performances from over 80 local bands and there will even be a kid’s Maker Zone where little artists can let their creative juices flow. Learn More

Mandy Saldana

Mandy Saldana

loves going to the festival every year with her family

“We love the Arts Festival. It’s always a lot of fun and fantastic food! The kids can run around somewhat unattended. And we always run into someone we know as we wander and enjoy the gorgeous weather.”

Friday on the Green

Friday on the Green

April 12, May 10, Near Southside

Just off of the popular Magnolia Avenue you will find the monthly concert series known as Friday on the Green. In a series of booths and food trucks ringing a grassy field, local vendors from Near Southside will serve up tasty treats. In the field people from all over the city will set up lawn chairs and picnic blankets while dogs and kids play. You can grab your food and claim your spot for the main event, a concert from a local or regional band that is sure to have you dancing, clapping, or at least swaying in the breeze. And the best part? The concert is free! Learn More

A fairly new addition to the beloved Fort Worth Zoo, Safari Splash offers a relief from the Texas heat when the temperatures start to soar. This colorful, fun splash pad offers a water play area with slides, water cannons, and much more. Food and beverages are available as well as lounge chairs and picnic tables. It’s a great place to bring the kids and meet up with friends for an afternoon of sun and play. Learn More

Mark Philpot Fort Worth

“Living in Mistletoe Heights, we are spoiled to have the Fort Worth Zoo just around the corner. In the late spring and early summer it starts to get a little warm around here for my liking, but my three year old loves to be outside regardless of the weather. At Safari Splash we can bring a picnic and let the little guy run free.”

Mayfest

Mayfest

May 2-5, Trinity Park

This annual river-side festival is known as “the biggest party in Fort Worth!” Adults and kids alike will enjoy carnival rides, live music and other performances, an arts and gifts market, a petting zoo, paddle boats, and so much more. Plan on spending the entire day eating decadent carnival foods and exploring the 33-acre fair grounds. It’s a party you won’t want to miss! Learn More

Sara Drehobl

“My family absolutely loves Mayfest! From performances and kiddo dance recitals to the rides and amazing food, we love it all! So much in fact that we go rain or shine, which in the last decade seems to have been more rain than shine! It’s great fun for all ages. (We may or may not have purchased a goat from the petting zoo for $75. Sweet goat, apparently within city limits it’s an issue).”

Hidden Gardens of Fort Worth

The Hidden Gardens Tour

May 19, Park Hill

Concerts in the Garden

Concert in the Gardens

Select weekends, June 7 – July 7, Botanic Gardens

We may be pushing into summer now, but Concert in the Gardens is worth planning ahead for. Every year our world-class Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra performs a series of concerts ranging from classical (“Mozart in the Garden”) to pop (“The Music of Pink Floyd”). This one may not qualify as an “event,” but it sure is one of our favorite things to do in the spring. Joe T’s boasts a Texas-size patios with excellent shade, gorgeous landscaping, and trickling fountains. We can’t think of a better place to enjoy fajitas and a margarita with good friends on a cool spring evening. It’s no wonder this Fort Worth family-own legend is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Learn More
