Shayla Johnston
Beginnings
Shayla grew up in Fort Worth, a town she loves deeply! Her career as an elementary teacher began shortly after graduating from Texas A&M. She poured herself into her job by loving, serving and giving her best to her students, coworkers and families. The community and relationships built while teaching for 7 years were monumental in development. Shayla served in church and YoungLife before meeting and marrying her sweetheart and best friend, Richard. With the dream of having children and a flexible career, she decided to pursue real estate.
Work & Skills
Through the high standards and leadership roles as an educator, Shayla developed strong communication and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to build systems and structure. She learned how to truly listen to what others are saying and then meet their specific needs. “What I have taken away the most in my career is how to put the needs of others before my own. Caring for people is what matters most to me.”
Priorities
During her free time Shayla enjoys exploring this amazing city with her husband and their two children. She loves date nights at fun new restaurants, antique shopping, Friday family movie nights that include homemade pizza, and playing Keno and Bunco with girlfriends. She can’t live without a good cup of coffee and her true crime tv/podcasts! Shayla and her family are involved at their church Watermark where they serve and attend bible study.
