With over 20 miles of biking, hiking, and equestrian trails circling a 640 acre lake, this state park is the perfect spot for anyone looking to soak up the Texas sun on foot, on horseback, or by boat. It’s a favorite for outdoor fans. 

3. Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

After you soak up some morning sun rays, give your mind a workout by visiting one of the best museums in the country. Founded in 1939, this museum combines geological, biological, and zoological exhibits into a learning hub for all. This makes it a wonderful place to retreat when it heats up.

4. Kimbell Art Museum

5. Trinity Forest Adventure Park

6. Six Flags Over Texas

Home to 14 roller coasters and over 100 attractions, Six Flags Over Texas is located in the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth. Once the park opens fully later this May, it will be a go-to spot for kids and adults of all ages to enjoy the Texas summer.

7. Fort Worth Water Gardens

Located next to the Fort Worth convention center, the Water Gardens is an art installation that creates a soothing, invigorating experience… especially in the heat of the summer. Admission is free, so it’s the perfect way to cool off and chill out while you’re exploring Fort Worth.

8. Fort Worth Botanical Gardens

Welcome to one of the largest botanical gardens in the United States! Founded in 1934, the gardens’ 120 acres features hundreds of plant and animal exhibits, including a Japanese Garden with koi fish, tropical conservatory, water conservation garden, and much more.

9. Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge
