Things to do in Fort Worth this Spring
It’s Springtime in Fort Worth, Texas, which means we’re pulling out our shorts and sandals and heading outdoors to enjoy the sunny skies and perfect temperatures! If you’re looking for some things to do with your family and friends this season, here are a few of our favorite spring events.
Beauty & Nature (the Naturalist)
Grab your pets, tennis shoes or bikes and head out on any of the over 100 miles of the Trinity Trails! Pack a picnic and make a day of it, or walk to one of your favorite restaurants and enjoy a leisurely meal on the patio! Rent a kayak, paddleboard or canoe and get in the water near Panther Pavilion. Speaking of the Panther Pavilion, don’t forget about the St. Patty’s Day 5K. Gather your friends, wear as much green as possible, and run with us on Saturday, March 13th. Then come back on April 10th to catch the beautiful Water Lantern Festival!
If you haven’t visited the Botanical Gardens in a while, it’s time to see what’s new! Check out the Japanese Spring Festival or the new exhibits: Stickwork and Topiaries in the Garden.
The Fort Worth Zoo is always a favorite! Still standing at #1 in the nation, it’s loved by children and adults alike. If you can’t get enough of animals and you don’t mind a little hiking, head to the Fort Worth Nature Center, a wildlife sanctuary and nature preserve that gives visitors a look into what our metroplex was like in the early 20th century!
The Arts (the Artist)
Museums are cool. Fort Worth’s Cultural District boasts world-renowned museums including the Kimbell, the Amon Carter, the Modern Art Museum, Museum of Science & History, and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. Visit their websites for details on pricing and events.
Have you noticed the number of murals going up all around our city (200 and growing to be exact)? Check out Inspiration Alley and the Fort Worth Design District to admire the work of local artists.
Sports & Activities (the Sports Enthusiast)
Did you know urban fishing is a thing? Well, on March 13 you can check out TRWD’s Flyfest! It’s a family-friendly festival celebrating the art of fishing. Grab a bite at one of the food trucks, enjoy some craft beer or wine, live music, kids activities and, of course, fishing. You can even take some casting classes!
If dancing is more your jam, take some friends over to Billy Bob’s Texas on Saturdays at noon for Lunch & Line Dancing. Sign up for a free lesson and try out their Honky Tonk kitchen!
Support the TCU Frogs and get your baseball fix! They kick off their season with a 3-game series against Gonzaga March 12-14th. Seating is limited, so check for availability each Monday morning of game week. If you’re into something with a faster pace, head north to the Texas Motor Speedway and catch a race or two in May!
Last but certainly not least, if you’re considering a move this spring season, we’d be honored to help you in the process. Whether you need help preparing your home for sale, or you’re looking for your new home (or both!), we are here for you and #ReadyToServe!
