Woodland Meadows

Luxury Aledo ISD Community

Overview of the Neighborhood

It would be enough to say that Woodland Meadows is a new development in Aledo ISD…the coveted, acclaimed, accomplished school district that draws local and relocating buyers alike to its lush green hills and small-town community charm. It would be extra-nice to mention that the neighborhood not only features 1-2 acre lots – but more, that they vary in terrain, elevation and the number of trees so that buyers get to pick their canvas on which to build. On top of that, there are just a handful of reputable, luxury builders operating within a price range catered to the discerning buyer looking for something special, and that deed restrictions and a planned HOA exist to protect home values. And if all that weren’t enough, there is the fact that the neighborhood is conveniently located just off 1187 with quick access to 377 and therefore Fort Worth, Granbury, and of course – Aledo proper itself, whereas many of the new developments on acreage in Aledo involve hefty commutes into town.

Let’s get even more specific…Woodland Meadows doesn’t just have the schools, the terrain, the quality control, and the location to boast…the community is not subject to city taxes, nor additional tax assessments like municipal utility districts, public improvement districts, or even a special water district. Nope. Life in Woodland Meadows is straightforward with wells and septic systems. No water bill. No co-ops.

If you’ve never heard of Aledo ISD and want to know what the fuss is about, go to its athletics page and spy the legacy of state championships in sports ranging from football to volleyball to baseball. Academically, the High School is among the top finishers annually in the UIL Lone Star Cup award. Go to GreatSchools.org and see the ratings for the elementary and middle schools across the board or spy the strong parent and community involvement on social media pages dedicated to AISD – otherwise known as Bearcat Country. Really, all you need to do is drive through town and take in the community pride dripping in orange and black and friendly smiles.

Beyond the schools, Aledo itself is a real gem of a community. Starting, as most towns in the area did, as a west-bound train stop called Parker Station, the town got its name in 1882 from a railroad official’s hometown in Illinois. Aledo is the oldest city in Parker County and grew from a farming settlement to a sleepy small town until the mid 1990s when rapid growth from Fort Worth sparked it becoming one of the most sought-after areas in the metroplex. Even with the significant growth, Aledo has held on to its unique western and rural-feeling heritage – its historic character and many historic buildings and homesteads – and its quaint, country feel. Residents enjoy the sense of a simpler way of life, a bit of elbow room, a tight-knit community feel, and the convenience of proximity to Fort Worth. And don’t forget the local favorites like Yesterdays Sandwich Shop, the Aledo Diner, Bearcat Grill and J’adore Rose espresso bar. Lest you worry that you’ll be too far out in the country, rest assured that plenty of local salons, boutique retail, and convenience and grocery stores are nearby – including a new HEB in Hudson Oaks.
